PROTEIN COOKIE PIE - PROTEIN POW

Allow me to begin this epic recipe by way of a story:

HIOnce upon a time, in a land somewhat far away, there lived a girl with a weakness for cookie pies. We’ll keep her name anonymous for now; we’ll just call her Hanna.

FRIENDLYHanna was of a gentle and kind disposition – good-natured, jolly, and always smiling. If you asked her friends what they thought of Hanna, they would tell you that, “oh yeah, Hanna, she’s friendly all right; a very nice person.”

But as quickly as they said that they would add:

PART 1“Unless you’re anywhere near a cookie pie!”

Then they’d probably look into the distance, recalling the last time they witnessed Hanna transform from a nice and gentle soul into an animal – a beast.

You see, Hanna had a big and incurable flaw: she went coo-coo for cookie pies. She completely lost her marbles. If you put a cookie pie in front of her, she would completely devour it – to hell with your feelings, it was all hers.

ALL THE PIEHanna’s friends knew of her weakness for cookie pies all too well. It was for this reason that they never invited her over when they were planning on eating a cookie pie. They knew, from years and years of personal experience, that Hanna would leave no pie for them. She’d pretty much inhale it whole.

Now, Hanna wasn’t house-sized, not like you’d expect of someone with a… let’s call it ‘passion’ for cookie pies as strong as hers was.

part 2Her diet was balanced and healthy, she exercised regularly, and she led an active and peaceful existence. Cookie pies seldom featured in Hanna’s life though. She just knew far too well that she could not resist them so she never bothered to order one when out at a restaurant or cafe. While there were times where she wished she could have a cookie pie, she didn’t feel their loss too intensely – it was an out-of-sight-out-of-mind kind of thing for Hanna.

LETTERWell, that all changed the day someone slipped a letter through her mail-slot. She quickly opened it and noticed that it was a recipe, written on powpyrus (i.e. paper from the land of Protein Pow).

The letter outlined a recipe for SINGLE-SERVING PROTEIN COOKIE PIES without any of the fat, sugar, and refined carbs that Hanna regularly associated with traditional cookie pies. It was a formula that provided her with all she needed to know to, once and for all, have her cookie-pie and eat it too! Now she would be able to incorporate cookie-pies into her life – in a single-serving and perfectly balanced fashion.

RECIPE“Is this some sort of sorcery ?” she asked out-loud when she finished reading it.

“No…” the wind whispered outside her window. “It’s just protein…

POW!”

Welcome to this recipe

;-)

PROTEIN COOKIE PIE - PROTEIN POW

Please note that this cookie pie is vegan but yours doesn’t have to be if you don’t want it to. You can use a different kind of protein pow and a scoop of dairy-based ice cream. You can also use another protein cookie recipe to assemble your cookie pies if, for whatever reason, you don’t like – or don’t have – the ingredients I list below (e.g. you can use a cookie recipe from the Protein Pow App, another one from here at proteinpow.com, or one from the new Pow cookbook). The point is just for you to create a delicious protein cookie, top it with ice cream +/- chocolate sauce and BAM! levitate in Cookie Pie-Induced BLISS!

Instructions
  1. In a bowl, mix all your ingredients together until you get a cookie dough. Taste it to ensure it’s sweet enough. If it isn’t, add a bit of toffee flavdrops or your sweetener of choice.
  2. Taste the cookie dough, paying attention not to eat it all!
  3. Divide the cookie dough into four ‘balls’ and press these on a cookie tray lined with some baking paper.
  4. Bake at 160 C (320 F) for about 8-12 minutes or until the cookies have cooked through but are still soft in the center. Keep an eye on them so they don’t overbake.
  5. As soon as they’re ready, place a couple of them on a plate and add some vanilla ice cream on top. I recommend you use either BoojaBooja’s vanilla vegan ice cream (because it’s ridiculously tasty) or protein ice cream if you want to up the protein content of your cookie pie!
  6. Finally, add a drizzle of chocolate sauce on top. I used Sweet Freedom’s Chocolate Sauce. I got it from Muscle Food UK (http://www.musclefood.com/new-to-muscle-food/sweet-freedom-choc-shot.html). If you want to get some too, remember to use our exclusive Protein Pow Discount code (it’s PROTEINPOW and entitles you to 5% off anything at Muscle Food). If you’re in the US, you can use a regular chocolate sauce (http://amzn.to/1uo5mol) or, to add no calories to your cookie pie, use Walden Farm’s calorie-free chocolate sauce. That or just a couple of squares of melted dark chocolate!
  7. Devour!
